About this guiding

The zander is one of the most popular fish species that predator anglers go after. The characteristic “tock” when biting and its impressive appearance fascinate many anglers. In our Zander Guiding we teach you when and where you can catch Zander, what the most successful strategies, bait and locations of the light-shy predators are.

The best areas for zander fishing are certainly the waters of the Rhine delta Hollandsdiep, Haringvliet and Volkerak. Here you can catch not only a lot of zander, but sometimes also very large ones. On these huge bodies of water, it is of course even more important to know exactly when and, above all, where the pikeperch are feeding.
But the rivers in the Netherlands are also full of zander and offer endless possibilities. Whether IJssel, Maas, Waal/Merwede or Nederhein, Roman knows when the zander are where.
You are welcome to bring your own tackle for zander guiding. You also have the opportunity to test Bullseye's legendary zander jig, the Jig Whip, in all its variations. In addition, high-resolution echo sounders from Humminbird and electric motors from Minn Kota make our search and targeted fishing easier.

How many people can book a tour?
Our Finval 475 Evo can accommodate up to four people (three guests + guide). However, for reasons of comfort, we recommend two guests per tour. Every tour is exclusive, which means that no one else can book this date and you won't be thrown together on the boat with guests you don't know.

What if we don't catch any fish?
Even with a guide, the catch is not guaranteed. There are environmental conditions in which many fish literally have their mouths shut and have no interest in eating. Such fishing days are also included. Nevertheless, you should go home with new know-how, great experiences and an unforgettable experience on the Dutch waters. Isn't there something reassuring about the fact that even professionals don't always catch like crazy?

What do you absolutely need when guiding zander?
After booking, we will give you a checklist of things you absolutely need. The most important things are of course a Vispas (Dutch fishing license), weatherproof clothing, sturdy shoes, sun protection, polarized goggles/sunglasses and, if not booked, food for the day.

About me: The passion for predator fishing has determined my life for many years. That's exactly why I've built my entire professional existence around it and have been active in the fishing industry for 8 years now. Since 2022 I have been self-employed as a guide, fishing filmer and fly fishing instructor and always enjoy learning new skills I want to hear from my guests and share my experiences. My Finval 475 Evo with 60hp Honda and the finest MinnKota/Humminbird equipment is mostly thrown. Only rarely or upon request do I use the live sonar to directly fish for individual fish. With me you will also receive the best possible care outside of guiding. From booking to accommodation, alternative programs for the family or meals on the boat, no wishes are left unfulfilled. Having lived in the Dutch Rhine Delta for two years, I know the local waters like the back of my hand and know when and where the big predators are. During my time in Sweden I was also able to get to know many of Småland's waters extremely well and can show you a few real gems here too. I also have a few very special treats in the Baltics and Norway that you should definitely check out!
